Prof. KIM Jeong Bon 

Biography

Professor Jeong-Bon Kim is Distinguished SFU Professor at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University (SFU). He also holds an honorary position of Lingnan Fellow at the Lingnan University Institute for Advanced Studies (LUIAS) and has served as a Faculty Fellow at the Jack Austin Center for Asia-Pacific Business Studies, SFU. Professor Kim has been listed among the World's Top 2% Most Highly Cited Scientists by Stanford University for most recent years and lifelong. Prior to joining SFU, he was Chair Professor of Accountancy, with concurrent appointment as Dean/Acting Dean of College of Business and Head of

Prior to joining CityU, he was a full professor (tenured) and Wadsworth Chair inAccounting and Finance, University of Waterloo where he also served as the Ph.D. Program Director. He also worked as Professor of Accountancy at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he served as Associate Dean (Postgraduate Programs and Research) for the Faculty of Business and Head/Acting Head of the School of Accounting and Finance. Professor Kim was Honored Professor at the School of Management, Fudan University, and Distinguished Honorary Professor at the Business School, Sun Yat-sen University. He also served as Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance at John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. Professor Kim has published over 160 papers at leading scholarly journals out of which 45 were published/accepted in premier journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, Management Science, MIS Quarterly, and Research Policy. He served as Area Editor for Journal of International Business Studies (2019-2022) for accounting area and is currently a Consulting Editor (2023-2025) for it. He was Editor-in-Chief for China Journal of Accounting Research, and China Accounting and Finance Review and is currently Editor-in-Chief for Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics. He served on the Editorial Board of various journals, including CAR and AJPT. Professor Kim has placed his Ph.D./Post-doctoral students internationally at leading universities, including HEC-Paris, University of Alberta, Norwegian School of Economics, University of Ottawa, The Hong Kong Baptist University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiatong University, Xian Jiatong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and United International College (Zhuhai)
